This idea to this CD came when my daughter was in school and she had to write peoms about the harvest time and the school held a feest and the kids were performing songs and read the peoms and mothers have brought food to show that for this year everything was ok. The children had learned that there was a time when the farmers could not produce enough crop to feed the people and that the people were starving. I grew up in a house which was used as a farmhouse previously as the family was smal leasholders. Had a house, a horse and farm animals and farmland and so I dived into the history of the farming time of England and Germany and read some books and I was fascinated by it. I wondered at times if I could have been able to work as a farm workers, when these days so many from us get heyfeever. I might would have worked in a household if I would have lived at that time. Our family never talked about starving in connection of the farming time, but by looking into the history books there were times reported where there was not enough food like around the 19th century or there is an old song which is much loved, Heitchi Bum Beitschi which actually is about such suffering and about children dying but this song is from the 18th century and I have this song on soundclick. Most of the farming time is forgotten, what I was told was that my grandfather went out demonstration against the rich landowner who had a castle, because they all had to pay too much tax and rent. He is as well the one who said that because of this we can't trust the church espechially as they say that we are sinners. That is all just there to keep the population meek to have them pay the high taxes and rent's.
I regard this CD the best I have done, even so it was the second Cd after The Angels. The song, The Solitary Reaper is the best song and it will be these songs which I will perform in churches, pups, nightclubs and galleries from February 2010 onward. At the beginning it will be all at open mic's possiblities and so mainly free unless the venues charge anyway regularely.
The prices for the CD's for all my CD's going to change. They go up, as I have them produced and printed and that is very expensive and as I am still not on TV and sell the music in masses, you should regard them as artist work like paintings. When I go out to perform I will have them with me to get sold, but the prices will be between £25 to £45.
The prices will be changed in CD Baby. All websites you see with the name zackota is connected to CD Baby which are mainly digital music shops.
This CD is available at several digital music stores
